A Low Voltage Electron Microscope (LVEM) is a type of electron microscope designed to operate at relatively low accelerating voltages, typically in the range of 1–30 kV, compared to conventional electron microscopes that operate at 100 kV or more. Operating at low voltages allows for enhanced surface sensitivity, reduced sample damage, and improved imaging of delicate or beam-sensitive specimens, such as biological samples, polymers, and nanomaterials.
