A Stacker-Reclaimer is a heavy machine used in bulk material handling to both stack material into large stockpiles and reclaim (retrieve) the material later for further processing or shipment. These units combine the functions of a stacker (which builds up the pile) and a reclaimer (which digs into or gathers material from the pile) in one integrated system. The machine typically consists of a boom conveyor, a bucket wheel or scraper mechanism for reclaiming, a slewing mechanism (for rotating horizontally), a luffing mechanism (raising/lowering the boom), and travel along rails so it can move longitudinally along the stockyard. They are used in industries like coal, iron ore, ports, steel plants, power stations, cement, and mining where large quantities of bulk materials need to be stored, managed, blended, and then moved out.
