Evacuated tube solar collectors are highly efficient solar thermal devices designed to capture sunlight and convert it into heat. They consist of parallel rows of glass tubes, each containing a vacuum that minimizes heat loss. Inside each tube is an absorber (with a heat pipe or fluid channel) that captures solar radiation and transfers the heat to a working fluid, which is then used to heat water or air.
Because of their vacuum insulation, evacuated tube collectors perform better than flat-plate collectors in cold, cloudy, or windy conditions, making them ideal for areas with low sunlight or harsh climates. They can produce higher temperatures, suitable not just for domestic hot water, but also for space heating and industrial processes.
