Products Description
A Rescue Sling System is a critical man-overboard (MOB) recovery device used on boats and ships to safely retrieve a person from the water without the rescuer entering the water. It typically consists of a buoyant U-shaped float or frame, a webbing harness or sling, and a long floating line. When someone falls overboard, the sling is thrown into the water and towed toward them, allowing the person in the water to position themselves through the harness. Once secured, the rescuer hauls them back in using the floating line, which can be winched or pulled manually. Many systems are designed to be operated by a single person, even from a moving or pitching vessel. They also often include reflective material, whistles, and other visibility aids to help locate and stabilize the casualty. High-quality versions are certified to marine safety standards (such as SOLAS or MCA) and are designed to minimize injury risk during recovery, providing a stable, chair-like posture for lifting.
