Low Voltage Electron Microscopes (LVEM) are specialized electron microscopes that operate at lower accelerating voltages, typically below 10 kV. This reduces electron beam damage to sensitive biological or polymer samples while still providing high-resolution imaging and enhanced surface contrast.
LVEMs are widely used in biology, nanotechnology, and materials science, particularly for imaging delicate specimens that are prone to radiation damage. They allow clear visualization of ultrastructures with minimal sample preparation compared to conventional high-voltage TEM.
