Tron Class A AIS TR-8000 MkII for Marine Navigation

The Tron AIS TR‑8000 Mk II is a fully compliant, next‑generation Class A Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponder made by Jotron. It is built to enhance maritime safety by exchanging navigation and vessel data with other ships, shore stations, and navigation systems. The system is modular, split into a transponder unit and a separate 7-inch high‑resolution touchscreen display, which are connected via Ethernet for flexible installation and retrofit. It supports inland waterways and is certified to the latest IEC Class A standard (IEC 61993-2:2018) as well as new Bridge Alert Management (BAM) requirements (IEC 62923-1/2). The transponder includes a built-in GNSS receiver for time synchronization and backup positioning, and there’s an SD card slot for future firmware or feature updates. Its rugged design meets marine-grade environmental specs, and it provides standard interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, IEC 61162) to integrate with ECDIS, ECS, or chartplotters.
