The Thrane LT‑3100 Iridium Satellite Communications System is a rugged fixed maritime Iridium terminal engineered by Lars Thrane A/S for reliable global voice and data connectivity at sea. It supports voice, SMS, SBD (Short Burst Data), and compressed modem data (2.4 & 9.6 kbps), plus vessel tracking via Iridium’s worldwide satellite network. The 4.3″ TFT color display offers day/night modes, and built-in voice prompts guide users through operations. A high-performance GNSS/GPS receiver provides precise location reporting. A single coaxial cable (up to 500 m) links the control unit to the antenna, giving flexible antenna placement. The system includes a webserver for remote configuration and maintenance, plus secure firewall and user authentication. It has Bluetooth support for voice, SMS, and data, and supports external SIP handsets / PABX and Wi‑Fi access points. Built for marine environments, its components are IP‑rated for durability: control unit (IP32), handset (IP32), and antenna (IP67).
