A Line-Interactive UPS is an uninterruptible power supply designed to provide backup power along with improved voltage regulation compared to a standby (off-line) UPS. In normal operation, the load is powered by the utility supply, but an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) actively corrects minor over-voltage and under-voltage conditions without switching to battery.
During a power failure, the Line-Interactive UPS quickly transfers to battery and inverter mode, typically within 2–4 milliseconds, ensuring continuous operation of connected equipment. This design reduces battery usage and extends battery life during frequent voltage fluctuations.
