Differential pressure flow meters are devices that measure the flow rate of liquids, gases, or steam by detecting the pressure drop across a restriction inserted in the flow path, such as an orifice plate, venturi, or flow nozzle. The pressure difference is proportional to the square of the flow rate, allowing calculation of the fluid velocity and volumetric flow.
