Fourier Transform (FT) spectrometers are high-precision instruments that use Fourier Transform mathematical techniques to convert raw interferometric data into spectra. Unlike conventional dispersive spectrometers, FT spectrometers collect all wavelengths simultaneously (known as the multiplex advantage) and provide high spectral resolution, sensitivity, and speed. They are most commonly used in the infrared region (FTIR), but also applied in NMR, Raman, and mass spectrometry.
