Capsule pressure gauges are specialized mechanical instruments designed for measuring very low pressures and slight pressure differences, typically of gases. They use a thin, corrugated metallic capsule (made by joining two diaphragms at the edges) as the sensing element. When pressure is applied, the capsule expands or contracts, and this movement is transmitted through a mechanical linkage to a pointer on the dial.
