Brocade fabric

Brocade is a richly decorative woven fabric, traditionally made from silk, but also produced today using blends of silk, polyester, cotton, and other fibers. It is characterized by intricate, raised patterns—often floral, geometric, or damask designs—that are woven into the fabric rather than embroidered or printed. The ornate designs are created on a jacquard loom using supplementary weft threads, which give brocade its textured, embossed effect. The patterns often feature metallic threads (gold or silver) for a luxurious, shimmering finish, making brocade synonymous with opulence and ceremonial elegance.
